Position Overview
- Key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time.
- Governance of day to day execution and implementation of Change Management process, including assurance that Change Management P&Ps are followed by all members
- Supporting Change Management strategy by driving IT/IS adoption of core principles and developing strong stakeholder relationships
- Ensuring the quality of all Change activity is maintained
- Provides guidance and training across organization boundaries in an effort to yield the most effective and efficient implementation of Change Management activities
Responsibilities
- Chairing of Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to ensure change activities are scheduled/ delivered in a manner causing minimal impact to the business and its customers and managing stakeholders
- Ensure Change Owners adhere to established IT/IS Change Windows and obtain appropriate approvals for Change activities & Designs methods to reduce the number of unauthorized or out of process Changes
- Understands the need to refer potential exceptions upward for review and approval
- Identification of P&P breaches. Recommends disciplinary actions when warranted
- Track and Report issues
- Creation and monitoring of Change Management Metrics and change progress status reporting and performance
- Participates in Audit activities as required. Interacts with the Security Department and provides Change Management compliance data supporting internal audit requirements
- Ensure CMDB and all associated documentation is updated within the business requirements timeline after the change has been implemented
- Collaborates with other Process Owners, departments and Service Vendors to guarantee maximum process integrity and validity
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of a Forward Schedule of Change (FSC)
- Supports timely and complete communication of Change life-cycles not exclusive of Release & Deployment (Plan through Post-implementation Review)
- Verifies analysis and design phase deliverables to ensure quality, clarity and effectiveness
- Create and Maintain any Change Management P&P complying to the business and customer requirements
Qualification & Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience
- Minimum 3 years of applied experience in Change Management
- Extensive understanding and knowledge of ITIL v3 / ISO 20000 standards and procedures specific to Change, Configuration, Release, Problem and Incident Management
- Familiarity with change management/ communication elements of IT project implementation
- Expert computer proficiency and Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work well in virtual team environments
- Strong initiative and the ability to self-start with high degree of initiative, urgency and follow through
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels of company
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, possibly conflicting priorities and projects with flexibility; ability to adapt a changing work environment and responsibilities
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities with shifting time frames, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated sound judgement in administrative and procedural decisions within scope of established parameters
- Demonstrated ability to research information, gather data, analyse data, compile statistical information, and prepare reports
